Wurtz reaction facts for kids
The Wurtz reaction is a coupling reaction in organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry and in organic main group polymers. Alkyl halides react with sodium metal in dry ether solution to form a higher alkane. It is named after Charles Adolphe Wurtz.
