Scattering facts for kids
Zodiacal light is a glow originated in the scattering of sunlight by dust located between the planets that are spread through the plane of the Solar System.
When radiation hits something it may be sent off in many directions. This is scattering and is distinct from absorption, reflection, and refraction. Kinds of scattering include:
- Mie scattering
- Rayleigh scattering
- Compton scattering
- Tyndall effect
- Thomson scattering
