Passivation (chemistry) facts for kids
In physical chemistry and engineering, passivation, refers to a material that becomes less affected by corrosion. Passivation involves making an outer layer out of a material that is less affected by corrosion. The material is put on as a microcoating. Passivation can only occur in certain conditions. It is used in microelectronics.
