Old Bridge is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Old Bridge Township, in Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 23,753. Despite the similarity in the name of the CDP and the township, the two are not one and the same, as had been the case for most paired Township / CDP combinations prior to the 2010 Census, in which the CDP was coextensive with a township of the same name.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP had a total area of 7.274 square miles (18.84 km2), including 7.100 square miles (18.39 km2) of land and 0.174 square miles (0.45 km2) of water (2.39%).

2010 census

The 2010 United States census counted 23,753 people, 7,775 households, and 6,368 families in the CDP. The population density was 3,345.5 people per square mile (1,291.7 people/km2). There were 7,987 housing units at an average density of 1,124.9 units per square mile (434.3 units/km2). The racial makeup was 79.56% (18,897) White, 4.38% (1,041) Black or African American, 0.18% (43) Native American, 11.07% (2,630) Asian, 0.02% (5) Pacific Islander, 2.64% (626) from other races, and 2.15% (511) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 10.97% (2,606) of the population.

Of the 7,775 households, 39.8% had children under the age of 18; 68.6% were married couples living together; 9.2% had a female householder with no husband present and 18.1% were non-families. Of all households, 15.3% were made up of individuals and 8.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.03 and the average family size was 3.39.

24.8% of the population were under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 24.6% from 25 to 44, 29.8% from 45 to 64, and 12.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40.2 years. For every 100 females, the population had 96.9 males. For every 100 females ages 18 and older there were 93.7 males.
