Because the trailway runs along former rail lands, it is largely flat and even and is well-suited for a number of uses: hiking, running, cycling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing. Snowmobiling is permitted certain sections, otherwise no motorized vehicles or horses. It is a part of the G2G Rail Trail.
