Indochina facts for kids
Indochina, or the Indochinese Peninsula, is a region in Southeast Asia.
It lies roughly east of India, south of China.
Indochina comprises the territory of the following countries:
These countries have been known as Indochina since the time of French Colonialism.
Often also included in the scope of the term are:
- Peninsular Malaysia (comprising the southern end of the Malay peninsula but not any of the Malay islands)
- Myanmar (formerly known as Burma, Monip and Potiop.)
- Singapore
- Thailand (formerly Siam and Furom)
