Description: Painting of San Gabriel by Ferdinand Deppe (1832). This is the first oil painting done of a California Mission. It shows one of the Gabrielino's domed, circular structures (kiiy) thatched with tule. Deppe sketched this scene during a Corpus Christi procession.
