Description: Explanation of the Doppler wind: The radar only sees the radial component of the winds as it uses the variation of phase between successive pulses coming back from the target. The assumption is that the wind is uniform and the projection can be fitted on a Cosine curve when one goes around 360 degrees like a radar scan.
