Hurricane Iota facts for kids
Hurricane Iota was an Atlantic tropical cyclone which formed in November 2020. The hurricane affected Nicaragua and Honduras in Central America.
Iota was the first time a 30th named storm had ever developed in the Atlantic Basin.
The storm was the second strongest hurricane in the month of November. It was the first Category 5 hurricane in the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season. The storm did $1.4 billion in damage and killed 61 people.
