History
Gaza got its start in the year 1888, following construction of the Illinois Central Railroad through that territory. It was named after Gaza, in the Gaza Strip of Palestine. Gaza's population was 42 in 1902.
Gaza has been home to Producers Cooperative Company since 1937. Producers Cooperative is a small member owned cooperative that deals in refined fuels, farm supplies and agronomy products. Gaza's Producers Coop also hosts the South O'Brien High School FFA Chapter's annual pancake feed on the Saturday before Easter Sunday.
Education
