Ambutrix is a commune. It is found in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in the Ain department in the east of France. In 2009, 660 people lived in the commune. The inhabitants are the Butrians. The local economy is mostly based around agriculture. The most important monuments in the commune are the Croix Baltazar and the 12th century Saint-Maurice church. The name of the commune comes from a Celtic tribe which lived in the area called the Ambarres.
