Alfordsville is a town in Reeve Township, Daviess County, Indiana, United States. The population was 101 at the 2010 census.
Contents
History
Alfordsville was laid out in 1845. It was named for James Alford, a pioneer settler.
A post office was established at Alfordsville in 1856, and it was discontinued in 1968.
Geography
Alfordsville is situated in a hilly area in southeastern Daviess County, northwest of Jasper. County Road 650 connects the town with U.S. Route 231 to the east. The Glendale Fish and Wildlife Area, which includes Dogwood Lake, lies to the west of Alfordsville.
According to the 2010 census, Alfordsville has a total area of 0.07 square miles (0.18 km2), all land.

As of the 2010 census, there were 101 people, 37 households, and 29 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,442.9 inhabitants per square mile (557.1/km2). There were 42 housing units at an average density of 600.0 per square mile (231.7/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 99.0% White and 1.0% from two or more races.
There were 37 households, of which 27.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.3% were married couples living together, 5.4% had a female householder with no husband present, 2.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 21.6% were non-families. 21.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.73 and the average family size was 3.17.
The median age in the town was 38.8 years. 24.8% of residents were under the age of 18; 8% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 23.7% were from 25 to 44; 29.6% were from 45 to 64; and 13.9% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the town was 52.5% male and 47.5% female.
