Yahata High School facts for kids
Fukuoka Prefectural Yahata High School (福岡県立八幡高等学校) is in Kitakyūshū ward, Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It is often called "Hachiko" (八高) for short.

Most Yahata High School students apply and get through the examination of the national university. This school has one of the top reputations among public high schools in Kitakyushu city (along with Touchiku High School and Kokura High School) because a large number of graduates continue on to National University, for example, Kyusyu University, one of the top public universities in Japan.
History
Fukuoka High School was founded in 1919 under the former Japanese educational system in which children went directly to high school after graduating from elementary school.
