Willow City is a city in Bottineau County, North Dakota, United States. The population was 149 at the 2020 census.
History
In 1886, the Great Northern Railway laid tracks through Willow City on the way to Bottineau. The community's first election took place in 1890, and the city was incorporated in 1906.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.46 square miles (1.19 km2), all land.

2010 census
As of the census of 2010, there were 163 people, 84 households, and 47 families living in the city. The population density was 354.3 inhabitants per square mile (136.8/km2). There were 123 housing units at an average density of 267.4 per square mile (103.2/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 95.1% White, 0.6% African American, 2.5% Native American, and 1.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.6% of the population.
There were 84 households, of which 14.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.0% were married couples living together, 7.1% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 44.0% were non-families. 40.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 19.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.94 and the average family size was 2.60.
The median age in the city was 51.2 years. 16% of residents were under the age of 18; 6.1% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 17.1% were from 25 to 44; 34.3% were from 45 to 64; and 26.4% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 54.0% male and 46.0% female.
