Vasily Dmitrievich Zvyagintsev (Russian: Василий Дмитриевич Звягинцев; November 21, 1944 – April 30, 2016) was a Russian science fiction author. He was born in Grozny. He wrote his only novel series Odysseus leaves Ithaca, set during World War II. The series was liked by literary critics. It contains more than 10 volumes. He won the Aelita Prize, Interpesscon, А. R. Belyaev award and special international award Eurocon.
Zvyagintsev died on April 30, 2016 in Stavropol, Russia from a heart attack, aged 71.
