Tilehurst Water Tower facts for kids
Tilehurst Water Tower was erected by Reading Borough Council in 1932. It is estimated to hold approximate 900,000 litres of water.
It is considered to be a local landmark. It was built in addition to the Bath Road Reservoir. They are made to supply water to properties at a higher level than the earlier water tower. It is still in use and is owned by Thames Water plc. It has the transmitter for The Breeze, a local radio station.
