Thor is a 2011 American drama epic superhero movie, starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston. It is the first movie of the series based on the Marvel Comics character Thor. It was directed by Kenneth Branagh and produced by Marvel Studios.
Thor is heir to the throne of Asgard, world of the gods. With his vigorous disposition, he is deported to Earth in the form of a mortal, for disobeying his father Odin and breaking into Jotunheim, home to the enemy Frost Giants. Thor lands in New Mexico and meets and develops romance with astrophysicist Jane Foster. Meanwhile in Asgard, Thor's brother Loki plans to ascend to the throne and sends the Destroyer to kill Thor.
