Shahab al-Din Suhrawardi facts for kids
Shahāb al-Dīn Yahya ibn Habash as-Suhrawardī (Persian: شهابالدین سهروردی, also known as Sohrevardi) was a 12th-century Persian poet, philosopher and Sufi. He was the founder of the Illuminationist philosophy or "Oriental Theosophy", or the Suhrawardi Order of Sufism. He is sometimes also called Sheikh al Maqtul (The Murdered Master/Sage) as he was executed for his beliefs and practices by orthodox Islamic authorities.
