Sakaka solar plant facts for kids
Sakaka solar plant Project is a 300-megawatt solar photovoltaic farm that was developed at a site of 6 square kilometres near Sakaka in the Al-Jawf region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is developed and managed by Sakaka Solar Company (SSEC). the plant is a joint venture between AquaPower 70% and SSEC at 30%. It is the first utility-scale solar project in Saudi Arabia. The work on the $320 million farm started in November 2018 and was connected to the local network in November 2019.
