Sahi al-Bukhari facts for kids
Sahi al-Bukhari (Arabic: صحيح البخاري), also known as Bukhari Sharif (Arabic: بخاري شريف), is one of the Kutub al-Sittah (six major hadith collections) of Sunni Islam. These hadith, were collected by the Muslim scholar Muhammad al-Bukhari. Among Sunni muslims, it is considered the most authentic book after the Quran. Sahi al-Bukhari together with Sahi Muslim is known as Sahihayn.
Details
Imam Bukhari, from the age of 16 traveled a lot of places to collect hadith reports. It is reported that he collected nearly 600,000 ahadith in his collection. Experts say that the number of full-isnad sayings mount up to roughly 7,397, and without considering repetitions of the same report, the number of hadith sayings reduces to roughly 2,602.
