Quaking aspen facts for kids
The quaking aspen is a term for two different aspen species.
- Populus tremuloides, a native tree in North America.
- Popullus tremula, the European trembling aspen.
All aspens spread by suckers (root sprouts). They may come to air up to 40 m from the parent tree, and form extensive clonal colonies.
