The President of the Executive Yuan (Chinese: 行政院院長; pinyin: Xíngzhèng Yuàn Yuànzhǎng), commonly known as the Premier of the Republic of China (sometimes as Prime Minister) (Chinese: 閣揆; pinyin: Gékuí), is the head of the Executive Yuan. The Executive Yuan is the executive branch of the government of the Republic of China (ROC). It controls Taiwan, Penghu, Matsu, and Kinmen. The premier is appointed by the President of the Republic of China.
