Piri Reis map facts for kids
The Piri Reis map is a map of the world drawn on a parchment of gazelle skin by a Turk named Piri Reis (full name: Hadji Muhiddin Piri Ibn Hadji Mehmed) in 1513. This map includes Antarctica, yet it was about 200 years before Sir James Cook discovered it in 1773.
