Nicotiana is a genus of herbaceous plants and shrubs. They grow in the Americas, Australia, south west Africa and the South Pacific. Nicotiana is commonly called tobacco plants. They are grown as ornamental garden plants.

One of the species is N. tabacum. It is grown worldwide to make tobacco leaf for cigarettes and other tobacco products.
