The Nguyễn Dynasty was the last imperial dynasty, or family of rulers, in Vietnamese history. The Nguyễn emperors ruled from 1802 to 1945. The capital of the Nguyễn dynasty was Huế. Nearly 40 percent of all Vietnamese people have the family name Nguyễn, named after the dynasty.
