Aurora | The roundhouse for the Chicago and Aurora Railroad (later Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad) was a major employer in Aurora from 1856 to 1974. After it sat vacant for twenty-one years, a group of investors led by Walter Payton converted it into an entertainment complex. It is the oldest standing limestone roundhouse in the United States. | |
