The Mitsubishi Galant is a car made by Mitsubishi Motors since 1969. The name comes from the French word galant, meaning "chivalrous". It began as a compact sedan, but over during its life has become a larger mid-size car. At first it was only made in Japan, but since 1994 the American market has been supplied by vehicles assembled at the former Diamond-Star Motors (DSM) facility in Normal, Illinois. Production stopped in 2012.
