Mario Kart 64 (マリオカート64, Mario Kāto Rokujūyon) is a racing video game made by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 game console. It is the sequel to Super Mario Kart, and the second game in the Mario Kart series. It features eight playable characters. It was released for the Wii's Virtual Console in January 2007, and released for the Wii U's Virtual Console in January 2016.
