Mad scene facts for kids
A mad scene is a scene in a play, ballet, opera, or other theatre work that shows a character either insane or going insane. Three famous mad scenes are those in the play Hamlet, in the ballet Giselle, and the opera Lucia di Lammermoor. In Hamlet, Ophelia is truly mad while Hamlet pretends to be mad.
