Luchegorsk (Russian:Лучегорск, lit. Ray of mountains) is a urban-type settlement and administrative center of Pozharsky District (Primorsky Krai, Russia). It was founded in 1966. There are 22,365 people living there according to 2002 Census.
Geography
Geographical coordinates are 46-27N,134-17E. Luchegorsk is the largest non-city settlement on Russian Far East.
Luchegorsk has more ecological problems for a large electric power station.
In December,1997, a large Amur tiger hunted down a poacher who had shot and wounded the tiger. The tiger killed the man in what appears to be the only (recorded) act of revenge by a tiger.
