Eucalyptus angularis also known as the Lesueur phantom mallee is a small tree that is native to Western Australia.

Description

Eucalyptus angularis is a mallee that grows to a height of approximately 3 metres (10 ft) and forms a lignotuber. It has grey rough to flaky bark lower on the stem and smooth above and angular branchlets. The leaves are glossy green with a blade that is lanceolate to falcate and are 5 to 10 centimetres (2 to 4 in) long and approximately 1.6 centimetres (1 in) wide.

Taxonomy

The species was first formally described by the botanists Ian Brooker and Stephen Hopper in 1993 in the work New series, subseries, species and subspecies of Eucalyptus (Myrtaceae) from Western Australia and from South Australia as published in the journal Nuytsia.

Distribution

It is found on lateritic breakaways in a small area along the west coast in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia around Dandaragan. Only two small stands of the mallee are known, one is near Mount Lesueur and another one on Mount Benia.
