The Lamborghini Urus is an SUV made by Lamborghini. It is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine. It was built in 2017 and released in February 2018 for the 2018 model year.
Concept car
The Lamborghini Urus concept was revealed to the public at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show on April 23, 2012. It was later shown at Pebble Beach in 2012. The concept was powered by a 5.2 L V10 engine that was shared with the Gallardo. The engine had a theoretical power output of 600 PS (592 hp; 441 kW). The power was put through an all-wheel drive power system.
The production version of the Urus was revealed in 2017. However, it looked different than the concept. It was also powered by a twin-turbo V8 instead of a V10.
Powertrain
The Lamborghini Urus does not use Lamborghini’s V10 or V12 engines. Instead, the Urus is powered by a 650 PS (641 hp; 478 kW) 4.0 L twin-turbo V8, which is a modified version of Audi's 4.0 L V8. The engine is built at a Volkswagen plant in Hungary. It is then shipped to Lamborghini's assembly plant.
Performance
The Urus’s engine has a maximum power output of 478 kW (641 hp; 650 PS) at 6,000 rpm. The Urus has a front-engine, all-wheel-drive layout, and a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph) making it one of the world's fastest production SUVs. The Urus can accelerate from 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds and 0–200 km/h (124 mph) in 12.8 seconds.
The Urus, like all modern Lamborghinis, has several different driving modes. Each mode has a specific purpose. The modes are: Strada (street), Sport, Corsa (track), Terra (dirt), Sabbia (sand), and Neve (snow). The Urus has a seating capacity of either four or five people.
