Josephine is a city in Collin and Hunt Counties in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 2,119 at the 2020 census, and according to 2023 census estimates, the city is estimated to have a population of 7,113.
Geography
Josephine is located in southeastern Collin County at 33°03′40″N 96°18′26″W / 33.06111°N 96.30722°W (33.0612291, -96.3072028).
A small portion extends east into Hunt County. It is 24 miles (39 km) northeast of Garland and 14 miles (23 km) southwest of Greenville.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.877 square miles (4.86 km2), of which, 1.807 square miles (4.68 km2) is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 km2) is water.

The racial makeup of the city was 70.9% White, 5.9% African American, 0.8% Native American, 1.1% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 8.9% from some other races and 12.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 21.0% of the population. 28.8% of residents were under the age of 18, 6.7% were under 5 years of age, and 9.7% were 65 and older.
2010 census
As of the 2010 census, there were 812 people, 282 households, and _ families residing in the city. The population density was 433.9 inhabitants per square mile (167.5/km2). There were 316 housing units. The racial makeup of the city was 88.2% White, 1.0% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.7% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 7.3% from some other races and 2.6% from two or more races.
