Jo-Carroll Dennison (December 16, 1923 – October 18, 2021) was an American beauty pageant winner, actress and was Miss America 1942. She was raised in San Francisco, California. As Miss America during World War II, much of her time was spent visiting "defense plants, hospitals and service camps" and selling war bonds.
Dennison was also an actress in the 1940s. She had roles in Winged Victory and The Jolson Story.
Dennison married comedian Phil Silvers in 1945. They divorced in 1950.
Dennison died on October 18, 2021 at her home in Idyllwild–Pine Cove, California at the age of 97.
