Japan Meteorological Agency facts for kids
The Japan Meteorological Agency (気象庁, Kishōchō) or JMA, is the Japanese government's weather service. It has the duty of getting the information on the weather and making the weather forecasts in Japan. It also must observe and warn about earthquakes, typhoons, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.
The central office of the agency is in Tokyo, and it has six smaller offices at other regions of Japan.
