Isaak Markovich Khalatnikov facts for kids
Isaak Markovich Khalatnikov (Russian: Исаак Маркович Халатников; Ukrainian: Ісаак Маркович Халатников; 17 October 1919 – 9 January 2021) was a Soviet-born physicist. He was known for his role in developing the BKL conjecture in general relativity. Khalatnikov was born in Dnipro, Ukraine.
Khalatnikov directed the Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics in Moscow from 1965 to 1992. He was elected to the Soviet Academy of Sciences in 1984. In 1994, he became a fellow at the Royal Society.
Khalatnikov died in Chernogolovka, Russia on 9 January 2021, aged 101.
