Description: Zeppelin monument. This splendid marble marble column surmounted with an urn can be found in St.Giles' churchyard. Erected at the expense of Mr.J.Grantham it commemorates a raid by a German Zeppelin in 1916. The inscription reads On the 24th September 1916 a bomb from a German Zeppelin fell on this spot and 13 more in the parish. No one was hurt, the church and other property was damaged
