Description: The West Window is a memorial to Elizabeth Sarah Fletcher and Mary Chandler, the mothers respectively of the Rev. J.M.J. Fletcher, (Vicar of Tideswell, 1900-1906) and Mary his wife. It was unveiled on 27 June 1907. It is by Hardman and Powell of Birmingham. The theme is taken from Rev. viii. 3, 4. The central figure is our Ascended Lord reigning upon His Throne. Beneath is the Angel offering incense. Above are choirs of Angels, and below, groups of Saints. The upper tier shows the four Evangelists. Next to the throne are four Apostles; Andrew, James, Peter and Paul. On the other side, four Patriarchs; Abraham, Jacob, Moses and Joshua. To the extreme right four other Old Testament Saints; David, Elijah, Hezekiah and Isaiah. In the lower tier to the left are four mediaeval Bishops; Chad of Lichfield, Hugh of Lincoln, Osmund of Salisbury and Martin of France. In the next panel are four holy women; the Blessed Virgin, Anne, Elizabeth and Mary Magdalene. On the other side are four British Mediaeval Evangelists,- Bede, Aidan, Boniface and Columba. On the extreme right are Cecilia, Margaret of Antioch, Genevieve, and Cuthburga of Wimborne. The bottom figure in the centre is John the Baptist.
