Image: WO 2087 Marbled Murrelet
Description: Marbled Murrelet (Brachyramphus marmoratus): photographed at Auke Bay marina, Alaska (12 miles north of Juneau). The last individual in the local population still showing extensive basic (winter) plumage in Spring -- perhaps unable to molt into full alternate (breeding) plumage due to physiological reasons?
