Description: Elida Valdez, mother of Cpl. Ramona M. Valdez, touches a newly-revealed plaque outside the Valdez Training Facility during a building dedication ceremony here, June 1. Cpl. Valdez, a communication specialist with Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), was serving with the Female Search Force when she was killed after a suicide bomber attacked her convoy on its way back to Camp Fallujah, Iraq, June 23, 2005.
