Description: A 144 MHz (two meter band) antenna used for radio direction finding contests, in which the contestants compete to find a hidden transmitter The operator points the antenna in different directions; when the signal in the receiver is strongest the antenna is pointing at the transmitter. This type of antenna is called a Yagi-Uda antenna. The antenna's beam axis, the axis of strongest reception, in upward in this photo.
