Description: The northeast bastion of the reconstructed Presidio San Agustin del Tucson. This fort was the first European structure in urban Tucson, constructed by the Spanish to mark the northern frontier of the Spanish empire in the Americas. The fortress was built in 1775 by the Spanish and used until the end of the Apache Wars by American settlers, circa 1886.
