Description: Print Tombola at Sohmer Park (1890), Montreal, QC, c. 1910, Cumming & Brewis - Ink on paper mounted on card - Halftone - 15 x 20 cm. On June 24, 1890, the day of the French-Canadian holiday of St. Jean-Baptiste, a tombola was organized at Sohmer Park. Proceeds went to the Monument National, a theatre which was built on St. Lawrence Boulevard in 1893. Festivities for Victoria Day were also held in the park.
