Description: Tom White was an American prospector. Not much known about White has migrated to the web; he is best known as a gold prospector in the area near Cordova, Alaska, who made the first discovery of commercial-qua(l/n)ity oil in Alaska in the early 1920s at Katalla. A short residential street in east Anchorage was named for him, but such accolades were few.
