Description: The ha-ha, Stowe The ha-ha is a sunken boundary wall about 6 feet high around part of the Stowe Landscape Gardens. The ground inside is flush with the top of the wall; the ground at the base of the wall slopes gently upwards away from the gardens. This keeps animals (and people!) out while not being obtrusive from within. Ha-has have been quite widely used in other places - most recently as a security measure to keep vehicles away from sensitive sites.
