He remained abed.After breakfast he asked to speak to me. He says,* Very sick last night. I asked him * What is the mat-ter. He says, I do not know. I took a cup of coffee.In a little while very sick and vomiting. He wassick the first time two or three days. Complainedof stomach, headache, and bone-ache. After he gotbetter I go see him every day—every night. After awhile something the matter with head. Did notknow anything. Perhaps crazy. I tried to speakhim. He did not know me. I wish to stay with him.Captain Hall called me to stay with him. After hegot better, I asked him what made him sick. Hesays, ^ I dont know. Everybody went to breakfast.I staid with him. I said I was very glad he wasbetter. He said ^ I have been sick. Dont knowwhether I will live or not. I asked him, ^ Do youknow Avhat is matter ?
