Description: The River Wey Navigation near Papercourt SSSI. Papercourt SSSI, just to the left of this picture, has been recently purchased by Surrey Wildlife Trust. The site is a traditional floodplain, with records dating back to before the Norman Conquest, and was previously owned by the Woking Angling Society. For generations, between regular flooding, sheep and cattle grazed this wet grassland creating a unique landscape and wildlife habitat, which is particularly good for birds.
