Description: Homemade Tesla coil in operation producing 3.5 meter (10 foot) streamer arcs. A Tesla coil is an electronic resonant transformer circuit invented by Nikola Tesla in 1891 which produces high voltage, high frequency alternating current electricity at low current levels. The potential on the coil's donut-shaped high voltage terminal (center) was probably near one million volts to produce arcs of this length.
