Description: The Temperance Fountain located at 7th Street and Indiana Avenue, NW in the Penn Quarter neighborhood of Washington, D.C. It was designed by Henry D. Cogswell in 1884 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The buildings seen in the background are the Washington National Bank, Washington Branch (left; now a PNC Bank branch) and Central National Bank (right; now the National Council of Negro Women headquarters). Both buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
