Description: Taira no Munemori (1147-1185), realist portrait or nise-e. He was heir to Taira no Kiyomori, and one of the Taira clan's chief commanders in the Genpei War. [Completed] Late Kamakura period. [Artists] Tamenobu Fujiwara and Takenobu (Fujiwara). (dates of birth and death unknown for both). Portrait picture scrolls depicting successive emperors, regents, and ministers in order of enthronement and appointment (owned by the Sannomaru Shozokan), the volume of ``The Shadow of the Minister containing portraits of successive ministers. The materials on display were copied in 1863 by Kano Nakanobu (1810-1871), an official painter. 2 axes. Formerly owned by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
